Hello! Welcome to my blog.
As we know, with the rapid development of science and technology, humans discovered the Moon and even started research about another planet like Mars. And in our world, the ocean covers about 71 percent of our planet's surface. But why do scientists always say that the sea is still a great mystery for humanity? Here are some reasons.
1. Harsh conditions- When you reach a depth of 1000 meters, you can no longer see sunlight.
- When you reach a depth of 4000 meters, the pressure increases 400 times compared to atmospheric pressure on the ground.
The Mariana Deep is the deepest part of the ocean (11.034 meters), and its pressure is so great that it can crush most normal equipment.
2. Mysteries creatures at the bottom of the ocean- Fangtooth fish (Anoplogaster): Although its body is very short (maximum length is 15.24 cm), with a large head, wide mouth, and long sharp fangs, the fangtooth fish is considered a formidable "character" in the world marine life.
Ghost shark: This fish lives at a depth of 2.500 m. It is related to sharks and rays and belongs to a group of fish with a skeleton made entirely of cartilage. Ghost sharks have ghostly black eyes and smooth, light brown, scaleless skin.
Anglerfish: This creature is called an anglerfish because its head has a "lure"-like part capable of bioluminescence. Studies have shown that this light is produced by bacteria living inside the Anglerfish and helps it attract prey, usually smaller fish.
3. Abaudant resources under the ocean- Rare metals: The ocean contains large quantities of precious metals such as manganese, cobalt, nickel, and rare earths - vital to modern technologies.
- Energy from the ocean: Research is underway to exploit thermal energy from the ocean and energy from ocean waves, helping to develop sustainable renewable energy sources.
4. Mysterious missing ships- Bermuda Triangle: Many ships and planes have mysteriously disappeared in this area.
The Titanic: Although the ship was found, many questions remain about the exact cause of its sinking.
Conclusion: Why do we need to continue to explore the ocean?Although science has made many great achievements, the ocean is still mysterious and unexplored. Understanding more about the ocean helps us discover strange creatures and find new resources, and it also helps protect the planet against climate change. With the development of technology such as RAV, robotic exploration, and AI that analyzes ocean data, we are getting closer to unlocking the secrets of the sea.
Are there any strange creatures hiding in the darkness of the ocean? The answer is probably still waiting for us to discover!
